The PEP Committee meets on ZOOM to plan park events to host throughout the year. Please share your ideas if there is an activity you would like to see at the park. We know our community is full of people who want to help in one way or another. We welcome your expertise, skills, and ways you can add your special touch to be a part of The Prairie Park. Come join us to connect with new people and rekindle old friendships.

The Park Investment Committee was created to work directly with elected officials, and other sources to seek funding for improvements to The Prairie Park. With assistance from our Alderman, Matt O’Shea, the Committee initiated the REBUILD Illinois Bond Grant request for our Park, sponsored by Illinois 27th District State Representative Justin Slaughter, in October 2022. The Chicago Park District received the executed approved Grant Agreement from the Dept. of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) in January 2024. Our full $500,000 award request was granted for our top three priority improvements: walking path, lighting, and water source. A Chicago Park District Project Manager was assigned in March 2024. We remain hopeful that the Park District will complete the improvements in early 2026.
